Welcome
The Cardiology Division at Duke University Medical Center is a world leader in research, clinical care and education where our vision is one of excellence across all our missions. Our cardiovascular services are led by prominent physicians who are internationally recognized for their contributions to advancing patient care, education and research. The division provides compassionate and cutting-edge preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients needing coronary care, inpatient and outpatient cardiology, cardiac catheterization and interventions, simple and complex electrophysiology, evaluation and treatment of heart failure and peripheral vascular disease, the assessment and treatment of valvular and adult congenital heart disease, heart and lung transplantation and advanced imaging services including cardiac magnetic resonance, cardiac computed tomography, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. As a result, Cardiology at Duke is consistently ranked among the top ten in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Members of the Cardiology Division are actively engaged in research activities in the basic, clinical, and translational sciences. A number of clinical trials are currently underway in such areas as coronary artery disease, valvular disease, heart failure, and electrophysiology.
