Electrophysiology and Arrhythmias
The Electrophysiology service provides invasive electrophysiological studies including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia focal ablation procedures. Three invasive labs are supported by a surgical electrophysiological program.
 
Treatment modalities offered include:
 
  • Implantation of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, and event monitors
  • Electrophysiology studies
  • Radiofrequency catheter ablation
  • Catheter cryoablation
  • Pharmacological therapy
  • Laser lead extraction
 
Each year more than 1,000 patients invasive diagnostic electrophysical studies.
 
More than 200 pacemakers and 500 implantable defibrillators are implanted each year.
