MDThe Cardiac Catheterization Research Laboratory is responsible for the development and testing of new cardiac catheterization therapies, with a focus on novel techniques and devices, for the treatment of acute and chronic coronary and peripheral arterial disease and valvular heart disease.
Site-based research efforts include initiation and oversight of clinical trials or registries which offer novel treatments or insights for these conditions. Cardiovascular Medicine fellows obtaining sub-specialty training in interventional cardiology are actively involved in subject screening, recruitment, protocol implementation, and are encouraged to pursue their own research project with mentorship by the faculty of the Duke Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
