The Duke Cardiovascular Thrombosis Center is a multidimensional program developed
for the study of thrombotic disorders involving the arterial, venous, and
microcirculatory systems. Multidisciplinary collaborations
provide a foundation for basic, translational, clinical (Phase 1, 2 and 3), and
population science investigation for students, house staff, fellows, and
faculty.

The center leads a National Thrombogenics Network,
known as Helix, which is assembling a database of 50,000 patients via a
nationwide network of anticoagulation clinics. Blood samples will be used to
conduct genomic, proteomic and biomarker studies.
